Switches, disconnects and enclosed breakers

Air conditioning disconnects

Eaton air conditioning disconnects (ACD) simplify installation and maintenance of air conditioning units. They provide multiple mounting options and enclosures with ample wiring space.

We offer the industry’s most complete line of ACDs. Devices are available in fused, non-fused, molded case switch or three-phase designs, and enclosures are constructed of durable galvanized steel or weather-resistant polycarbonate. Additionally, Eaton ACDs are rated NEMA 3R for their rainproof enclosures.

A removable front cover on the galvanized steel enclosures and a side-hinged door on the polycarbonate enclosures enable quick access to the disconnect.

Eaton non-metallic air conditioning disconnect

Eaton’s non-metallic air conditioning disconnect (ACD) is constructed of durable PPE. Its enclosure resists extreme heat and cold as well as corrosion common in coastal areas.

Core features

  • Non-fused pullout and moulded case switch devices provide a visible on-off disconnecting means.
  • Easy-to-remove high strength protective shield makes wiring and mounting easier.
  • Easy-to-remove front cover (no screws or fasteners to remove) allows easy access.
  • Padlockable door provision increases safety and reduces tampering.
  • Easy installation with multiple mounting options and oversized enclosure allows for ample wiring space.
  • Optional ground fault or weather-resistant/tamper-resistant receptacles are available.

A visible means of disconnect

Air conditioning disconnects (ACD) are located between a loadcentre and an air conditioner. ACDs provide a visible disconnecting means when performing maintenance and are commonly referred to as disconnects, pullouts or air conditioning switches.

Rotate your way to the easiest installation

Eaton’s air conditioning disconnect with GFI receptacle is your answer to meeting the NEC 210.63 ground fault requirements, and to installing faster and easier than ever before, thanks to a convenient quickstep design.
