Dublin Simon Community

Eaton is a proud partner of the Dublin Simon Community – a charity that supports homeless and vulnerable people in Ireland.

Helping open the door to a new home

Since 2018, the Dublin Simon Community has been Eaton’s chosen charity in Ireland.

The charity provides crucial services and assistance to people at all stages of homelessness in Ireland. Dedicated staff and volunteers work tirelessly to empower people to close the door on homelessness by providing housing, addiction treatment, and other targeted relief, through advocacy and partnership.

With more than 8,300 adults and children across Ireland now lacking a safe place to call home, the charity’s work is more important than ever to the surrounding community.

A vital charity for the local community

Founded by students in 1969, the Dublin Simon Community empowers people to make home a reality. Each year, dedicated staff and voluntary supporters aid more than 7,600 members of the community who are at all stages of homelessness. The charity provides crucial, lifesaving services – including emergency accommodation, addiction treatment, and a nightly Soup Run – to vulnerable people across Dublin, Kildare, Wicklow, Meath, Louth, Cavan, and Monaghan.
Eaton receives the Lasting Impact Award

In January 2022, we received the Lasting Impact Award, in celebration of our long-standing partnership with the Dublin Simon Community. Over the years, we’ve grown from partners to friends, joined by our mission to fight for social justice, equality and to make sure everyone has a safe place to call home.

Eaton employees get involved

Our team members continuously lend their time, energy, and skills to help our long-term charity partner do even more to prevent and address homelessness. Our employees regularly donate clothes, toiletries, and sleeping bags for use by the charities service users, in addition to donating any items that can be sold in the Dublin Simon Community charity shops, as well as holding stock sorting days to help organize all the contributions received. We also support the charity with regular internal fundraising events, such as bake sales, and by donating Eaton product to their housing projects. In 2021, we were able to donate €80,000 to the Dublin Simon Community, thanks to the ongoing support and advocacy from our employees in Ireland.
"I’m delighted that we have the power to make a real difference and enable hundreds of people to benefit from the Dublin Simon Community’s life-changing services."
Ultan Doyle, Finance Leader - Global Indirect, Ireland

We make what matters work. Sustainably.

As we realize our vision to improve the quality of life and the environment, we believe we should be measured by more than our financial results – we should also be defined by our commitment to the environment, to our workforce and local communities, and to doing business right. These elements are the bedrock of our approach to sustainability.
“I love the fact we come together as a team to support the Dublin Simon Community. It’s incredibly rewarding to know that our efforts make a meaningful impact on homelessness.”
Phil Kane, Electrical Sales Country Manager, Ireland
