Power distribution units for IT equipment

Eaton PDI Static Transfer Switch

The PDI Static Transfer Switch supplies critical loads with a choice between two available sources of electrical power. By continually monitoring power quality, the PDI Static Transfer Switch automatically transfers to an alternate source within a quarter cycle and without interruption of power to even your most sensitive critical loads.

Volt second synchronization

  • The PDI Static Transfer Switch transfer algorithm quickly switches power sources while minimizing voltage disruptions and preserving transformer flux balance. By rapidly firing the SCRs to establish a balance point, it ensures a faster, cleaner power transfer with minimal inrush current, regardless of load size or composition.

Compact enclosure, modular design

  • Modular interior design results in higher quality throughout the product line and the new 2000Amp has the smallest footprint in the industry.

Rigorous five-step quality process

  • The quality process begins with a vendor quality partnership, utilizing PDI-designed test equipment and procedures. It continues with functional component testing, followed by component-level tests in a simulated STS environment. Next, module-level testing is conducted, and finally, verification of the final product’s system performance.

Dual redundant display

  • In the event of a touchscreen display failure the PDI Static Transfer Switch can be operated via the redundant operator interface. This manual interface enables the operator to select mode of operation and source (1 or 2) enabling continuous operation and maximze uptime.

Advanced communication

  • The PDI Static Transfer Switch communication package boosts power reliability and availability by providing instant access to redundant power sources and enabling online maintenance of upstream equipment. It also displays real-time waveform captures on the color touchscreen and gathers power data from downstream BCMS devices.

Triple redundancy

  • The true system redundancy provides the ultimate in power system reliability.

The Static Transfer Switch is Seismic certified

The Static Transfer Switch (STS) has undergone rigorous testing to ensure it can withstand seismic events, continuing to provide reliable performance even in challenging conditions.
