Destitute care initiative

No Child should be left behind. Together we can create a safe environment where every child can thrive.

Our Destitute Care Initiative aims to create safer and inclusive environments for children. The program offers  quality care, nutrition, shelter and social support, all critical tools that aid in the child’s development and growth. We partner with Bharatiya Samaj Seva Kenda, SAMPARC and Bhatkiya Vimukt Jati Sikshan Sanstha who provide care to children from the most vulnerable communities.

  • BSSK (Bharatiya Samaj Seva Kendra): BSSK was founded in Pune in 1979, to offer care and protection to vulnerable orphan, and destitute children. The center is licensed to admit children from birth to 6 years of age. Every child admitted here comes through the Child Welfare Committee (CWC).  Children who come there are frail, underweight and in need of holistic care. They are given the best possible care in these early years either through the childcare or foster homes. Medical care, nutrition and education is taken care of to ensure their holistic development in the period they are there.
  • BVJSS (Bhatkya Vimukt Jati Shikshan Sanshtha): BVJSS supports an orphanage in Pune, with special focus on nutrition and health of 400 inmates. Eaton supported renovation of the kitchen, enabling hygienic conditions for food preparation; regular health check-ups and providing nutritional supplements.
  • SAMPARC (Social Action for Manpower Creation): Eaton supports Bal Asha Ghar, a childcare home run by SAMPARC. Children of commercial sex workers stay here and are provided with basic support like food, clothing, education and medical. SAMPARC believes that education and proper care, food, and medical are the basic requirement to bring these disadvantaged boy children into mainstream life. Success of their life through education can bring change into their lives and groom them into responsible citizens of the country.

Eaton volunteers make regular visits to the organizations to support them with classes, sports and cultural activities. Volunteers also provide technical assistance, that has an impact on overall health of the organization.
